Project Manager


The Company

A UK major main construction and engineering contractor with over 100 years experience in the build industry. They have a vast portfolio of developments and have successfully delivered projects in excess of £400m+ which has allowed them to provide construction solutions to some of the world's most successful and enduring businesses.

The Project

As an experienced Freelance Project Manager, you will oversee a £30m extension to a high-profile prison in West Yorkshire. Works will include new accommodation blocks, offices, communal areas as well as refurbishment works to the existing buildings. You will assist and guide the team operationally to ensure the project is delivered on time, in budget and to the clients' satisfaction.



Requirements

For this role it is essential that you carry the following professional qualifications as a minimum;

* SMSTS
* First Aid
* CSCSCard
* HNC / ONC or equivalent qualification

It is also preferred but not essential that you hold the experience below;

* Previous experience of working on MoJ or MoD projects



The Role

* Job Title: Project Manager
* Project: £30m Prison Extension, Yorkshire
* Location: Yorkshire
* Duration: 12 months
* Reporting to: Contracts Manager

Duties

* Cost Control
* Progress reporting
* Running ECI projects
* Chair and attend site meetings
* Conduct regular quality inspections
* Carry out programme and budget evaluations
* Liaising with the end client and key stakeholders
* Management of onsite labour and subcontractors
* Supervising teams comprising various disciplines
* Oversee and implement health & safety regulations
* Negotiate with vendors, suppliers and subcontractors
* Liaise with the commercial team on estimating costs and timeframes
* Participating in the value engineering and buildability aspects of the project
* Reaching an agreement with planners and relevant production staff on construction methods and schedules
* Organizing resources for the comprehensive management and implementation of the project, including the appointment of subcontractors to perform the necessary work
* Ensuring the establishment, monitoring, and control of critical dates, resource needs, production rates, overhead targets, and other related factors
* Creating and maintaining financial and commercial control systems, protocols, and standards that satisfy the contractual obligations of the projects
