Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications
For this role you must possess the following;
* Prior experience working for a Main Contractor as an Estimator for a minimum of 3 years
* Experience with working on Internal and External Refurbishment projects up to £2m
* Previous experience working on Logistics, Education & Commercial projects desired
* A good communicator, able to deal with a range of people, tasks and obligations
* Well organised, self-starter, able to implement procedures and effectively manage all aspects of the works
* Commercial knowledge and ability to negotiate terms with a range of parties
The Role
As the Assistant Estimator, you support the Estimating Team producing competitive tenders for projects in the Logistics, Education & Commercial sectors in order to secure projects.
Duties
* Reporting to the Estimating Manager
* Liaise with new and existing clients to receive new enquires
* Assess new tenders, checking for completeness and accuracy of information supplied
* Liaise with clients and manage any potential questions or queries
* Attend local sites for initial site surveys
* Prepare accurate and comprehensive conceptual budgets
* Preparation of analytical cost plans and commercial tenders
* Performing digital quantification take offs
* Update and amend database with up-to-date supply chain supply data
* Undertaking new contractor pre-qualification questionnaire
* Produce contractor tender information packs
* Evaluate returned documents to filter reliable, cost-effective subcontractors
* Negotiate with subcontractors
* Produce value engineering options within tender proposals
* Adjudicate tender information prior to submission
* Prepare tender documentation
