Project Quantity Surveyor

The Project

As an experienced Project Surveyor, you will take full commercial responsibility of all packages on a £10m education development in Cumbria which will be in the excess of £10m. You will be joining the project at pre-con stages and leading it commercially, whilst reporting directly to a Commercial Manager.

Requirements

For this role it is essential that you carry the following professional qualifications as a minimum;

* Educated to degree level or equivalent in Quantity Surveying

It is also essential that you hold the experience below;

* Previous experience of commercially leading similar developments
* A background in working with projects that withhold values up to £10m

Additional skills;

* Excellent time management skills
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
* Exceptional software and computer skills including Cost Management systems and Microsoft Office

The Role

* Job Title: Project Surveyor
* Job Type: Permanent
* Project: £10m New Build Education Development in Cumbria
* Reporting to: Commercial Manager

Duties

* Analysis of tender allowances
* Preparing material reconciliations
* Cash management and maximisation
* Preparing and submitting material delivery sheets
* Strong communication, sales and presentation skills
* Develop accurate and consistent bids with the help of relevant departments
* Preparation and administration of procurement advice, tenders and tender reviews
* Maintain sustainable and productive relationships with existing clients and subcontractors
* Ensure deadlines are actively managed and progress is reported to supervisors as required
* Minimise risk, cost and maximise value by cost checking and analysis of labour, plant and materials
* Measurement and valuation of works (on site and from drawings) for valuations, variations & final accounts as directed by line manager
* Assisting in preparation of financial reports by taking relevant site measurements and/or measuring from drawings as directed by line manager
* Manage a range of commercial aspects including procurement, tendering, contract administration, variations and management of subcontract works packages through to final account
