The Company

A well-established construction and engineering company with a company turnover in excess of £800m. Our client carries out engineering and construction projects in various sectors including healthcare, residential, commercial, education, heritage & defence. The company has aspirations to become Britain's Best Builder, proving this by their participation in building some of Britain's most recognisable projects and buildings.



The Project



As a Senior Estimator, you will be part of the bid team on large infrastructure projects across the UK, including projects on the rail, industrial, energy and highways.



Can work out of either the Manchester, Newcastle or Birmingham Office.



Requirements

For this role it is essential that you carry the following professional qualifications as a minimum;

* First Aid
* CSCS Card
* Driving Licence
* HNC or Degree in Estimating or equivalent
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal



For this role it is essential that you hold the following experience below;

* Experience in using Civil Engineering Standard Method of Measurement to complete taking off of materials
* Experienced in the use of Candy Estimating Software
* Experience and good knowledge of the construction / civil engineering sector and the technology and techniques used
* RICS / CIOB / A.Cost E (Desirable)
* Cost Planning

Duties

* Pricing of Bills of quantities
* Measurements, preliminary work, and costs while estimating and pricing cost savings from value engineering
* Planning risk analysis schedules
* Coordinating every step of the tendering process
* Researching and comprehending market rates for materials and subcontractors
* Analysis of subcontractor tender returns and creation of subcontractor work package comparisons, where applicable;
* Production of Material, labour, and plant build-ups
* Measuring and production of measured quantities from drawings or BIM models for incorporation in tender inquiries
* Knowledge of direct and indirect costs and cost drivers
