Site Manager
The Project
Site Manager to support an on-site Project Manager on a £12m residential accommodation project in Manchester.
Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications
As the Site Manager you must possess the following;
* Ø Prior experience within the construction industry working for a Main Contractor or House Builder for a minimum of 3 years.
* Ø Prior experience with new build projects between £1m - £10m.
* Ø Knowledge of new build steel frame projects
* Ø Experience of working with a logistically challenging site
* Ø A good communicator, able to deal with a range of people, tasks and obligations.
* Ø Well organised, self-starter, able to implement procedures and effectively manage all aspects of the works.
* Ø Commercial knowledge and ability to negotiate terms with a range of parties.
* Ø Good people skills.
Duties
* Reporting to the Project Manager
* Ordering materials
* Maintaining quality control checks
* Liaising with internal sub-contractors
* Conducting quality and safety inspections
* Ensuring work is finished to a high standard
* Reporting on project progress to senior managers
* Ensuring high quality of workmanship is maintained at all times
* Supervising site labour (both directly employed and sub-contract)
* Day to day problem solving and dealing with any issues that arise
* Assist in the supervision of construction workers and subcontractors
* Overseeing project schedules and ensuring working is completed on time
* Managing health and safety throughout the site including site safety inspection
* Ensuring a safe and tidy site is maintained at all times and that site rules are adopted by all site personnel
This is a long-term freelance position with a competitive rate (£240.00 - £250.00p/day, working hours are Monday to Friday, 8.00am - 5.30pm) on offer for the successful candidate.
