The Company

Our client is a leading quantity surveying consultancy working with some of the UKs largest major main contractors and specialist subcontractors. They provide quality dispute resolution, commercial management, claims and recovery solutions across all project sectors as well as thorough training and development services.

The Project

As a Freelance Senior Surveyor, you will be working as part of a highly experienced commercial team using traditional surveying techniques, in-depth data analytics and understanding of contract law to provide commercial management and guidance on a number of projects across West Yorkshire. Typical project sectors include education, healthcare, leisure, commercial, residential and industrial with build values in excess of £5m

Requirements

For this role it is essential that you hold the experience below;

* Experience of working with a reputable contractor / subcontractor on projects in excess of £5m+
* Extensive background with at least 5 years' experience within the construction industry in a similar position
* History of managing commercial packages on projects across various sectors in line with the above

The Role

* Job Title: Freelance Senior Surveyor

* Project: Various education, healthcare, leisure, commercial, residential and industrial projects
* Duration: 12 months minimum
* Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire
* Reporting to: Commercial Manager

* Able to delegate and prioritise tasks successfully
* Maintain and expand supply chain relationships
* Offer useful feedback to project teams and individuals
* Internal reporting and monitoring of trade contractors on projects
* Confidence in presentation and the skill to lead high level meetings
* Maintain sustainable and productive relationships with existing clients
* To be able to interrogate the design to drive top value and efficiencies
* Must be able to remain composed and focused in complicated situations
* Must be organised and prioritise own work to deliver on time through organization of time efficiently
* Identify opportunities to expand the business, including through partnerships, mergers and new markets
* Increase and grow optimistic relationships with clients and client professional teams for all assigned projects
* Plan resource requirements for assigned projects, managing and personally working with the project teams to recruit and select quality colleagues
