Section Engineer - Highways - Cumbria

The Project



As a Section Engineer, you will ensure the safety and quality of the engineering on the site whilst organising, supervising and developing the engineering team.



Requirements

For this role it is essential that you carry the following professional qualifications as a minimum;

* CSCS Card
* Driving Licence
* First Aid
* SSSTS / SMSTS
* HNC / NVQ or Degree in Civil Engineering or related field

For this role it is desirable that you hold the skills & experience below;

* Microsoft Office
* Knowledge of engineering principles and CDM Regs
* Experience as a Senior Engineer, Section Engineer or Project Engineer on civil highways projects
* Experienced in bridges, drainage, earthworks & road construction

* Reporting to: Site Agent



Duties

* RFIs & TQs
* Ensure site records are accurate and kept up to date
* Production of RAMS and ensured they are followed
* Delegation of engineering tasks on site
* Complete and update programmes (look a heads)
* Setting up and maintaining site control
* Creating a safe and secure work environment
* Overseeing the setting out on site and organising facilities
* Ensuring compliance with Highways work standards
* Produce Inspection & Test Plans and maintain as built records
* Management of the project quality plan and QA records
* Keep up to date and accurate site diaries & other site documentation
* Undertaking Land, Stockpile and Construction Work Surveys
* Checking and Preparing Site Reports, Designs and Drawings
* Updating site diaries, completion of QA documentation, site photos
* Mentoring and teaching junior & graduate engineers
* Organising the subcontractors and keeping them on programme
