The Project

As a highly experienced Health & Safety Manager you will work closely with project teams based in the North East on various significant projects across the region. Projects typically range from £1m - £100m+ across various sectors such as commercial, residential, education, leisure, education, healthcare, retail and industrial.

Requirements

For this role it is essential that you carry the following qualifications;

* Member of IOSH working towards Chartered Status

The following criteria is desirable;

* NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Level 5/6 in Occupational Health and Safety
* Mental Health First Aid

It is also desired that you hold the skills & experience below;

* Experience working on large scale construction o/ civil engineering projects for leading UK Tier 1 contractors Ability to multitask
* Great presentation skills
* Strong attention to details
* Leading and management skills
* History of managing direct reports
* Experience with Senior Team Leadership
* Proficient in the use of MS Office / Outlook
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Confident and proactive in managing own work load
* Ability to multitask and prioritize projects under pressure
* Good understanding of behavioural psychology and human factors

Duties

* Inductions
* Tool box talks
* Health & Safety
* Manage direct reports
* Review of RAMS / MS
* Site inspections / audits
* First aid / nursing duties
* Ability to apply root cause analysis
* Liaise with the Site Manager and client
* Offering general health and safety advice to all employees
* Monitoring health and safety risks and hazards in the workplace
* Carry out H&S inspections throughout the project as well as writing reports
* Ensuring the business is legally compliant with all health and safety legislation
* Participate in business development efforts as needed to secure new work opportunities
* Advising employees on how to minimise or ultimately avoid risks and hazards in the workplace
