Quantity Surveyor

Our client is based in the West of Scotland with over 40 years of experience, specialising in the construction of new homes, schools, healthcare facilities, industrial, commercial, infrastructure and civil engineering. The Project

As a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor, you will be working on a new £15m Social Housing Scheme in Fort William, comprising of 70 units of housing including roads, sewers, drainage and services. You will take full commercial responsibility of all packages and report back to the Head of Commercial. Hybrid working is available for this position with accommodation and travel provided when travelling to sites.



Requirements

For this role it is essential that you carry the following professional qualifications as a minimum;

* CSCS Card
* Educated to Degree level in Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management or equivalent experience / memberships

It is also essential that you hold the experience below;

* Commercial experience and knowledge of working on similar projects from inception to completion

Duties

* Procurement
* Financial reporting
* Oversee all external works
* Superb negotiation capabilities
* Cash flow and credit control monitoring
* Ability to multitask and prioritise projects
* Must be team-focused and results focused
* Advice and support to Project Management
* Client and supply chain contract management
* Strong communication, sales and presentation skills
* Client and supply chain change control management
* Participate in the settlement of main contract final accounts
* Dispute support activities to legal departments and external experts
* Monitor sub-contractor performance in consultation with senior staff
* Client and supply chain management from procurement to final account
* Participate in the recording of delays & preparation of any request for extensions of time
* Generate/maintain relevant records, accurate filing and support for all commercial functions
* Provide tender analysis to relevant people for approval of proposed sub-contractor prior to placing of orders.
* Attend pre-start meetings and ensure that all relevant sub-contract paperwork and signed trade specifications are uploaded to DMS prior to start on site of the sub-contractor.
