CRE - Contractor Responsible Engineer - Civils - Birmingham


The Company

An award winning and well-regarded principal contractor with a revenue of over £450m. They have over 60 years' experience in delivering projects across civil engineering, rail and construction. A Company with over 400 employees are looking to add an experienced CRE on a large project in Birmingham.

The Project

We are looking for an experienced CRE on an improvement scheme on a civil superstructure in Birmingham, worth over £45m.

Requirements

For this role it is essential that you carry the following qualifications or experience as a minimum;

* Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
* Previously acted as a Network Rail signed off CRE
* Experience working on projects in the civil rail environment
* Temporary works designated individual competency - advantageous
* Experience within construction industry, in particular rail civil and design experience
* Worked within the UK Rail sector for a significant part of their career and will have good knowledge of CDM regulations, Network Rail Group and line standards

Duties

* Manage the design process
* Plan and coordinate designs
* Meeting with clients and subcontractors
* Procure and oversee sub-contract services
* Maintaining Compliance with CDM regulations 2015
* Approving all designs and ensuring completion of the acceptance process
* Clearly identify and document the interfaces between all discipline Engineers
* Implementation of a formal design integration process for all design documentation
* Working with the delivery team and in close liaison with the client's project delivery team
* Involvement in all stages on the project ensuring all projects are delivered in a safe, efficient and timely manner
* Ensure that the risk assessment and mitigation plan is adhered to so technical risks are managed effectively
* Prepare, review, comment and accept all site documentation as required to meet with contract requirements
* Assessing the competence and the appointment of all design engineers required to work for or on behalf of the organisation
* Ensure integration of design, installation and commissioning activities and that the end product meets client specification
* Undertake design reviews to ensure that Design is delivered to programme and the output is compliant with defined scope and applicable standards
* Ensure that appointees are competent and able to undertake the workload required and have both understood and accepted their responsibilities
