Document Controller


The Company

A privately owned construction and engineering contractor, who specialises in modular healthcare buildings and hospital construction. They deliver single source construction and engineering solutions to the UK's public and private sectors consistently promoting innovation and sustainable construction.



The Project

Based in the Head Office in Cheshire, you will provide support to various site teams on a number of health care projects up to the value of £10m. Projects range from traditional build and modular to extensions and refurbishments and cover the whole of England. You will oversee and operate document control software, working closely with the design team to ensure all design information is controlled, documented and issued within set time scales.



This role would be well suited to someone with experience in Construction Administration and is looking to take the next step in their career into a Document Control position with the relevant training and support provided.



Requirements

For this role it is preferred that you carry the following skills as a minimum;

* Knowledge of BIM and AutoCAD
* Exposure to document control software
* Literate in English and any other languages
* Experience in the use of extranet systems and procedures
* Computer Literate, specifically in Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, Access
* Highly proficient in document control software; must be a viewpoint user

Duties

* Maintain internal drawing registers
* Upload documentation as necessary
* Manage multiple projects concurrently
* Conduct regular on-site drawing audits
* Develop and modify workflows within Viewpoint as needed
* Aid the teams in generating and preparing necessary reports
* Distribute drawings and information for construction purposes
* Retrieve and print drawings from the system for review, as needed
* Follow and implement processes in line with BIM protocol, as required
* Assist the teams in setting up subcontract package folders on Viewpoint
* Support the proper usage of all required systems, such as Teams and SharePoint
* Assist the team in generating and formatting design deliverables schedules and drawing logs
* Take responsibility for day-to-day management of the document control system during the preconstruction phase and support our operational team during the construction phase
* Collaborate with the Pre-Construction, Operations, and SHEQ Teams to deliver initial and ongoing training for new team members on the use of the document control system
