Our client carries out engineering and construction projects in various sectors including healthcare, residential, commercial, education, heritage & defence. The Project

As an experienced Chief Engineer, you will lead the delivery of an multi £100m civils framework.

Requirements

For this role it is essential that you carry the following qualifications or experiences as a minimum;

* Has experience in a Senior Management Team in a large company
* Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering
* CSCS
* Experience managing and leading technical teams
* Extensive experience in heavy civils (Ideally in Nuclear, Oil & Gas, MOD, etc)
* Membership of a construction / Civil Engineering industry related Professional Body
* Temporary works experience

Duties

* Manage the project so that the company's costs and program objectives are met
* Conduct regular inspections (surveillance) of equipment to monitor quality, compliance and progress
* Ensuring technical compliance of all works with contract documents and building regulations and drawings
* Provide designability support and due diligence reports on design solutions implemented by external consultants
* Ensure that engineering is trained and has a high-level understanding of the specifications related to their work area
* Ensures that the impact of customer change requests on program costs, resources, etc. is considered with engineering and business teams
* Ensure quality construction standards and proper construction techniques are implemented and maintained to ensure a flawless final product
* Ensure that method statements, risk assessments and inspection and test plans (paying particular attention to quality requirements) are reviewed and approved
* Participate in the development of processes to produce a quality culture in the first place Influences and inspires his staff to adopt a Quality First approach in all aspects of the project
* Provide forensic technical support to the company to find effective solutions to defects that may appear in all construction related projects
* Ensures project management according to the management system of the Company and CMS; comply with the company's quality, environmental and safety policies and legislation.
