Estimating Manager


The Company

Our client is a privately owned; leading healthcare technology company with over 20 years in the industry. They provide new modular medical spaces, mobile theatres and building service installation/ maintenance works to live clinical environments across the UK.

The Project

As an experienced Estimating Manager, you will play a key role within the Supply Chain Team overseeing the estimating and tendering process for modular and mobile healthcare projects across the UK. You will deliver competitive cost estimates working closely with Commercial, Bid Management and Design Management teams to develop the most cost-effective and accurate proposals.

Requirements

For this role it is desirable however not essential that you carry the following professional qualifications;

* Building Industry Related Qualification: ONC / HNC / Degree or equivalent



It is also essential that you hold the skills and experience below;

* Previous experience working in a similar role on projects with build values between £2m - £10m+
* Proven experience working within the modular industry
* Knowledge and understanding of Design & Build contracts
* Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD/AutoCAD LT is advantageous

* Location: Gloucester (Home / Office - Hybrid Working) - Occasional travel to sites across the UK is required

Duties

* Specification analysis & review
* Preparation and submission of tenders
* Adjudicating tenders within agreed limits
* Knowledge of the build process of the project
* Understand company policies and procedures
* Preparing bill of quantity / pricing documentation
* Reviewing enquiry returns / checking compliance
* Collection of pricing elements to form tender sum
* Identified commercial opportunities within projects
* Preparing tenders for adjudication / settlement meetings
* Commercial review of opportunities and tender documents
* Commercial and Financial analysis of Risk & Opportunity
* Preparing and sending out sub-contract and materials enquiries
* Contributing to the design process and scope gap analysis
* Winning contracts, minimising risk and maximising gross profit
* Propose and implement the preconstruction cost budget for projects
* Developing and building relationships that support growth in the business unit
* Establishing the net cost of all bids before board approval and client submission
* Support the Commercial team in handling an increasing volume of new inquiries
* Assist the Commercial team in developing budget proposals for speculative inquiries
