Health & Safety Advisor

The Project

The successful candidate will be working in the East Yorkshire region as a Health & Safety Advisor on a large £30m new build production facility. Phase 1 of the project will involve the construction of the steel framework, cladding and an office area, followed by phase 2 which is the internal fit out and equipment installation. This is a junior position with the opportunity to be mentored and support throughout by the wider Health & Safety team.

Requirements

For this role it is essential that you carry the following professional qualifications as a minimum;



* CSCS
* SMSTS / SSSTS
* NEBOSH or IOSH qualified



It is also essential that you hold the experience below;

* 2 - 5 years industry experience
* A healthy track record of working on a New Build production facility with values of up to £30m

The Role

* Job Title: Health and Safety Advisor
* Project: £30m New Build Production Facility in East Yorkshire
* Duration: 18 months
* Reporting to: Health and Safety Manager

Duties

* Inductions
* Tool box talks
* Liaise with the team
* Manage direct reports
* Review of RAMS / MS
* Site inspections / audits
* First aid / nursing duties
* Ability to apply root cause analysis
* Discuss all Health and Safety issues with team
* Provide team members with support on Health and Safety
* Offering general health and safety advice to all employees
* Monitoring health and safety risks and hazards in the workplace
* Asses live site to ensure all safety issues have been taken care of
* Carry out H&S inspections throughout the project as well as writing reports
* Ensuring the business is legally compliant with all health and safety legislation
* Directly reporting regularly to Construction Director and Health and Safety Manager
* Advising employees on how to minimise or ultimately avoid risks and hazards in the workplace
* Attend regular meetings with Construction Director, Contracts Manager and Safety Department
* Managing emergency procedures (such as fire alarm drills) and organising emergency teams such as fire marshals and first aiders
