The Company

A national construction contractor with regional offices in the Yorkshire and Midlands area, who provide clients with a diversity of work across a number sectors from; residential and leisure to hospitality and student accommodation. Major projects within the region range from £10m - £50m+ in value. The Project

You will play a key role within the Pre-con and Planning team working on various new build and refurbishment projects across accommodation, commercial, leisure, education and healthcare sectors.

Requirements

It is essential that you hold the skills & experience below;

* Comfortable and experienced working on projects with values up to £30m+
* Extensive background, 5 years minimum with a proven track record of success on major projects with a proven Major Main Contractor or Subcontractor
* Excellent IT skills
* Computer literate
* Attention to details
* Ability to time manage effectively
* Strong written and spoken communications skills
* Significant knowledge on contract laws & planning techniques
* Can efficiently operate using the correct relevant software / techniques

The Role

* Job Title: Planner

* Project: £1m - £30m various new build and refurbishment projects across accommodation, commercial, leisure, education and healthcare sectors within the region
* Reporting to: Pre-Construction Manager
* Location: Sheffield

Duties

* Identify and manage project risk
* Collate & validate project progress
* Ability to produce detailed programmes
* Carry out meetings related to programmes
* Liaise with clients and external planning consultants
* Provide planning services to projects and proposals
* Report project progress to the Construction Director
* Build relationships with clients, contractors and consultants
* Carry out continuous research to keep the company at the forefront of technology
* Communicate the projects expectations and performance measures to key stakeholders
* Pricing of prelims as part of tender submissions and analysis of Labour Resource & Plant
* Prepare proposals and site plans in conformance with codes and local and national regulations
* Attending and presenting at proposal meetings, while assisting the Design Team and Commercial Team
* Provide planning management and support to both the pre-contract and contract operations for the business
* Gather relevant statistical data and drafts reports on issues such as demographic information, occupancy rates, and land use
