Senior Estimator


The Company

A market leading principle contractor offering complete construction solutions across the UK; they have an impressive private and public portfolio of major industrial, civil, rail and leisure developments with build values in excess of £120m. Our client is a strongly cash positive business with a healthy track-record of profit growth and an annual turnover in excess of £600m. They are a highly awarded contractor with a number of industry awards and accreditations.



The Project

As a highly experienced Senior Estimator you will be overseeing the estimating and tendering process for various complex projects across sectors such as leisure, industrial and commercial with values up to £150m+



Requirements

For this role it is ideal but not essential that you carry the following;

* Relevant industry qualifications; minimum of HNC/HND/DEGREE

It is essential that you hold the skills & experience below;

* Extensive background, 5 years minimum in a Design position with a proven track record of success on major projects with a proven Main Contractor or Subcontractor
* Experience of typical procurement routes including Single and Two Stage Tendering, Design & Build.
* Proven track record of preparing tenders for medium and major building projects
* Strong IT Skills
* Excellent presentation skills
* Experience of most forms of contract
* Ability to multitask and prioritise projects
* Strong communication and attention to details
* Indication of strong interpersonal and people management skills

* Project: Various projects across sectors such as leisure, industrial and commercial with values up to £150m+
* Reporting to: Pre-Construction Director



Duties

* Specification analysis & review
* Preparation and submission of tenders
* Adjudicating tenders within agreed limits
* Knowledge of the build process of the project
* Understand company policies and procedures
* Preparing bill of quantity / pricing documentation
* Reviewing enquiry returns / checking compliance
* Collection of pricing elements to form tender sum
* Identified commercial opportunities within projects
* Cost Planning and Analytical / 1st Principles Estimating
* Preparing tenders for adjudication / settlement meetings
* Commercial review of opportunities and tender documents
* Commercial and Financial analysis of Risk & Opportunity
* Preparing and sending out sub-contract and materials enquiries
* Contributing to the design process and scope gap analysis
* Winning contracts, minimising risk and maximising gross profit
* Propose and implement the preconstructio
