MEP Design Manager


The Company

A prestigious global Construction Contractor with an exceptional track record of delivering luxury, award winning, major flagship developments alongside an excessive global portfolio of £50bn+. They have projects across a variety of different sectors including retail, residential and commercial.

The Project

A major new build, private residential scheme based in East London. The overall build value exceeds £600m and will deliver 1200 new homes across various high rise accommodation blocks which will include amenities such as; gyms, a swimming pool, workspace and high-quality public areas

Requirements

For this role it is ideal but not essential that you carry the following;

* Relevant industry qualifications; minimum of HNC/HND/DEGREE

It is essential that you hold the skills & experience below;

* Extensive background, 5 years minimum in a Design position with a proven track record of success on major projects with a proven Main Contractor or Subcontractor
* Comfortable and experienced working on major projects with build values in excess of £100m+
* Experience managing MEP / M&E design packages on major residential / commercial developments
* Strong IT Skills
* Experience of most forms of contract
* Excellent sales and presentation skills
* Ability to multitask and prioritise projects
* Strong communication and attention to details
* Indication of strong interpersonal and people management skills

The Role

* Job Title: MEP Design Manager
* Job Type: Permanent
* Project: £650m+high profile Design & Build Private Residential Scheme
* Reporting to: Design Director

Duties

* Managing technical drawings and plans
* Working with operations and pre-con teams
* Identifying efficiencies, risks and opportunities
* Ensure that the design is compliant with the brief
* Provide a turnkey design service during the pre and post contract
* Developing and maintaining the projects design management plan
* Develop innovative design solutions to clients briefs with input from the design team
* Ensure full compliance with all relevant codes and standards including Building Regulations
* Liaise with all members of the development team, from consultants to the sub-contractors
* Managing external figures in order to arrange; fee proposals, appointments and variations
* Bringing together architects, structural and service engineers, specialist designers and BIM technicians to create coordinated designs
* Identifying and managing risks and opportunities through value engineering and on-going technical awareness
* Providing management and support to the project design team and delegating tasks to team members according to their specific competencies
