Freelance Finishing Foreman


The Company

A leading global construction group providing technical regeneration services across the UK. Our client operates across various build sectors including: residential, education, healthcare, facilities and maintenance and upholds a strong sense of social responsibility throughout their business. They have an impressive portfolio of major developments with build values in excess of £200m alongside a healthy track-record of profit growth and annual global revenue in excess of £50bn. They are a highly awarded contractor with a number of industry awards and accreditations.



The Project



As a highly-skilled Finishing Foreman, you will oversee snagging and finishing on a Student Accommodation development in Birmingham consisting of a 500-bed accommodation block and multi storey car park. It will be a state of the art low carbon campus with an overall value of approximately £100m. You will interact with construction professionals and senior management whilst managing a high pressure and busy environment. Further to this, you will be organising and overseeing internal subcontractors including joiners, decorators and finishers ensuring all work is completed in a timely and efficient manner to an exceptionally high standard.



Requirements

For this role it is essential that you carry the following professional qualifications as a minimum;

* SMSTS
* First Aid
* CSCS Card

It is also essential you carry the following experience;

* Successfully managing new build / refurbishment projects from inception to completion
* Experience delivering similar size projects in a Senior / Site Management position with a Tier 1 contractor

The Role

* Reporting to: Project Manager

Duties

* Ordering materials
* Maintaining quality control checks
* Liaising with internal sub-contractors
* Conducting quality and safety inspections
* Ensuring work is finished to a high standard
* Reporting on project progress to senior managers
* Signing off and handing completed work over to the client
* Overseeing finishing trades and labour throughout the site
* Day to day problem solving and dealing with any issues that arise
* Assist in the supervision of construction workers and subcontractors
* Overseeing project schedules and ensuring working is completed on time
* Managing health and safety throughout the site including site safety inspections
