The Project
The project is working Rail Projects in Manchester and across the North West. As an experienced Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for ensuring the commercial aspects are completed in accordance with the contract and to satisfaction of the company.
Requirements
For this role it is essential that you carry the following qualifications as a minimum;
* A Valid PTS
* SSSTS / SMSTS
* A Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field
It is also desired that you hold the skills & experience below;
* Experienced within a rail environment
* Experienced as a Quantity Surveyor Role
* Track record of financial and commercial acumen
* Excellent organizational and communication skills
The Role
* Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

* Project: Compete Work on Sections of Track in the North West
* Reporting to: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Duties
* Archive old project material
* Manage the procurement of sub contractors
* Prepare monthly regional CV and forecast reports
* Compile, submit and agree the financial effects of variations
* Able to work unsupervised to prepare interim valuations and final accounts
* Compile monthly application for payment to Client and track the certification
* Able to work unsupervised, managing all aspects of Subcontractor accounts
* Set up necessary systems to efficiently file and retrieve information and allow others to do likewise
* Compile Project specific commercial issues for reporting and presentation at Client progress meetings
* Work with the project operational staff to ensure that the profitable and commercial aspects of site decisions are understood
* Support the Agent and General Foreman in jointly ensuring the working environment is that of trust, integrity, motivation and enjoyment
* Has a working understanding of contact conditions, particularly relating to: Obligations of parties to the contract, Valuations of variations, Payment / final account
