Senior Quantity Surveyor


The Company

Our client is a dynamic global construction contractor with 30 years within the industry specialising in retail, fit out, refurb and cut and carve. They provide construction solutions to some of the world's most successful and enduring businesses and have a vast portfolio of high-profile projects across the UK with values in excess of £20m. The Project

As a highly experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor you will be working closely with the Site Manager and Project Manager on the financial aspects of various banking, retail and healthcare framework schemes across Bristol. You will be Involved in the projects from tenders, pre-con through to site delivery.

Requirements

For this role it is essential that you carry the following professional qualifications as a minimum;

* Degree qualified or NVQ, BTEC or Higher National equivalent

It is also essential that you hold the experience below;

* Good verbal and written communication skills
* Good knowledge of Word and Excel packages
* Good understanding of JCT forms of contract & Contract law
* Extensive experience in a surveying role (Preferably with projects with a value of around £10m, but not essential)

Duties

* Approve project insurance arrangements
* Organise financial section of project report
* Advise on the selection of trade contractors
* Close out financial account and retention releases
* Settle second stage lump sum tenders and GMP's
* Provide feedback to trade contractors on completion
* Advise client on contract procurement routes existing
* Attend design team meetings and trade contractor meetings
* Internal reporting via billing monitors, MCR's and interim CVR's
* Create 'rolling' final account throughout project and agree at PC
* Manage change orders in unification with the Site/Project Manager
* Instruct accounts to invoice clients and to pay subcontractors and suppliers
* Advise on product selection, specifications and assist with the value engineering
* Attend tender presentations for new projects, contribute, lead commercially and present
* Take care of receipt and distribution of drawings and other relevant information and maintain control
* Prepare and observe bid package tender schedule and report against the cost plan where required
* Prepare monthly cost reports including any relevant information provided by Project/Assistant surveyors
* During proposal stage, prepare the budget and prelims build up, obtain and vet trade contractor bids, compile the clients company information section for the prop
