The Project

This project is a multi million pound rail infrastructure scheme based in the North West, the project specifically is working on the construction of new and extending existing platforms including all civil related works. Some simple extensions and walkways, buffer stops, signaling and permissive working.

Requirements

For this role it is essential that you carry the following qualifications as a minimum;

* Signed off my Network rail as a CEM
* Degree in Civil Engineering or other relevant qualification

It is also essential that you hold the skills & experience below;

* Computer abilities and software skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication
* Strong planning, organising and prioritisation skills
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
* Experience of managing commissions for large projects

The Role

* Job Title: CEM
* Job Type: Long term contract
* Reporting to: Construction Director

Duties

* Management of staff and projects
* Design and Checking of engineering solutions.
* Promoting safe working practices in all areas.
* Appreciation of the team's financial, quality and programme targets.
* Clear communication of design philosophy and requirements with other team members.
* Using initiative and confidence to put forward solutions based on sound engineering principles.
* Production of clear, consistent, referenced calculations, reports and sketches to current CoP and Standards.
* Challenging the brief, enabling innovative development of unambiguous engineering solutions from feasibility through to detailed design.
