Senior Planner


The Company

A UK major main construction and engineering contractor with over 100 years experience in the build industry. They have a vast portfolio of developments and have successfully delivered projects in excess of £400m+ which has allowed them to provide construction solutions to some of the world's most successful and enduring businesses.



The Project

As a highly experienced Senior Planner you will be working on a range of educational, MOJ, residential, refurb and mixed use buildings ranging from £8m - £50m+ in value. You will have responsibility for the preparation and updating of project programme for both bid and contract stages as well as regular monitoring and ensuring the project is being delivered on time and within budget.

Requirements

For this role it is essential that you carry the following professional qualifications as a minimum;

* Ideally a member of a professional body
* Qualified to degree level / equivalent industry related qualification



It is also essential that you hold the skills & experience below;

* Computer literate and commercially astute with excellent communication skills
* Knowledge in the use of Asta Power Project / Microsoft Project
* Experience of working as a Senior Planner on high value projects
* Experience working on new build and refurbishment projects across education and healthcare sectors

Duties

* Carry out continuous research to keep the company at the forefront of technology
* Communicate the projects expectations and performance measures to key stakeholders
* Pricing of prelims as part of tender submissions and analysis of Labour Resource & Plant
* Prepare proposals and site plans in conformance with codes and local and national regulations
* Attending and presenting at proposal meetings, while assisting the Design Team and Commercial Team
* Provide planning management and support to both the pre-contract and contract operations for the business
* Gather relevant statistical data and drafts reports on issues such as demographic information, occupancy rates, and land use
* Assist with the mentoring and development of Trainee Planners, Graduate Planners, Assistant Planners and Planners if the need arises
