Design Coordinator


The Company

A privately owned construction and engineering contractor, who specialises in modular healthcare buildings and hospital construction. They deliver single source construction and engineering solutions to the UK's public and private sectors consistently promoting innovation and sustainable construction.



The Project

Based in the companies Head Office in the North West, you will be working as a Design Coordinator assisting the management teams in the design process from tender through to site delivery. Working closely with the Pre-Construction and Design Teams, you will be involved in various Health Care projects from extensions and refurbishments, both traditional build and modular up to the value of £5m.

Requirements

For this role it is essential that you have the following previous experience;

* Strong knowledge of BREEM
* Working knowledge of Building and CDM Regulations
* Good working knowledge of design software such as AutoCAD and REVIT
* Demonstratable experience of assisting in the design process of construction projects up to the value of £5m

Duties

* Arrange primary site surveys
* Attend regular design meetings
* Progress Reporting / Monitoring
* Regular use of Microsoft software
* Observing 4P for new information
* Managing cost within budget figures
* Development of subcontract designs
* Support and assist the BIM Manager
* Taking meeting minutes and actions
* Programme production and monitoring
* Collect and manage documents on 4p
* Suggest improvements on design method
* Producing design proposals at tender stage
* Attend on site and online design team meetings
* Liaise with project design consultants and client
* Review progress against the project programme
* Check in with design managers for project update
* Assisting the Design and Pre-construction managers
* Assisting with all design aspects on tenders and projects
* Support and advise colleagues on all design related matters
* Establishing and maintaining relationships with design consultants
* Carry out initial review of design information prior to issuing to client
* Reviewing quotations and ensuring all information has been included
* Coordinate the flow of information between the site team and design team
* Providing support and technical advice to the client and other stakeholders
* Work closely with Project teams on all matters of design including Health & Safety
* Getting quotations back from consultants and suppliers within a specified timeframe
