The Company

An established construction contractor based within the North West who are looking to expand their portfolio across the region. Specialising in delivering new build and refurbishment schemes, specialising in residential projects within the private and affordable housing sector. At present, projects range up to £10m+ with high profile tenders in the pipeline for future works.

The Project

As an experienced Construction Buyer, you will support the Procurement Manager to ensure projects are delivered to client's specification, whilst monitoring all necessary expenditure to retain a cost effective approach. By liaising with the wider business, you will be assisting with all invoicing related matters whilst providing an appropriate insight towards all financial needs. Projects are typically New Build Residential schemes across Greater Manchester and the North West consisting of housing and apartments for private clients and local authority ranging from 30 - 150 units.

Requirements

For this role it is essential that you carry the following qualifications as a minimum;

* CSCS Card
* Driving Licence
* NVQ Level 4 or higher Qualification

It is also desired that you hold the skills & experience below;

* Strong range of IT skills
* Good communication skills
* Knowledgeable in the use of COINS
* Methodical, thorough and organised
* Excellent attention to detail the ability to gather, interpret and present data

Duties

* Processing of requisitions
* Issuing Purchase Order information

* Update and control in-house company software
* Manage and monitor all material rebate related activity

* Attend design meetings to monitor and report on any inconsistencies
* Build strong relationships with suppliers to ensure cost and quality of materials is upheld
* Monitor annual expenditure, prepare analysis figures and issue and prepare tender invitations
* Attending regular site meetings to monitor material usage, project development and ensure deadlines are achieved
* Regular liaison with the wider commercial team to ensure financial targets are being met and tendering practices are being followed
