M&E Quantity Surveyor


The Company

An industry leading Principal Contractor who undertakes projects for major blue chip retail clients are recruiting for their M&E division due to an exciting new work-stream. They have an extensive retail fit- out portfolio stretching across the country and are offering working from home and flexibility to accommodate modern life.

Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications

For this role you must possess the following;

* Prior experience within the construction industry working for a Main Contractor or Fit Out Contractor for a minimum of 5 years.
* Knowledge of new build and refurbishment projects of £6m+.
* A good communicator, able to deal with a range of people, tasks and obligations.
* Well organised, self starter, able to implement procedures and effectively manage all aspects of the works.
* Commercial and construction legislation knowledge, with the ability to negotiate terms with a range of parties.

The Role

As a M&E Quantity Surveyor, you'll support the commercial team in working on refit projects across multiple workstreams, with values ranging from minor projects circa £50k to larger projects circa £6m.

Duties

* Responsible in working with projects from conception to completion
* Measuring, scoping, and tendering the works at inception
* Working with a schedule of rates and / or frameworks
* Submission of interim payment applications
* Preparation of monthly cost and value reconciliation reports / Project cost control
* Assisting with all commercial aspects of allocated projects
* Preparation and submission of interim valuations
* Manage and value variations
* Attend meetings for the agreement of final accounts
* Post contract liaison with clients
* Sub-contract negotiation and letting
* Joint responsibility of managing contract costs including payments to sub-contractors
* Preparation of monthly cost and value reconciliation reports
* Assist with the management of contractual documentation and letters / Understanding of sub-contracts
* Placing sub-contract orders
