Senior Project Manager / Project Lead

A UK major main construction and engineering contractor with over 100 years experience in the build industry. They have a vast portfolio of developments and have successfully delivered projects in excess of £400m+ which has allowed them to provide construction solutions to some of the world's most successful and enduring businesses.



The Project

As a highly experienced Senior Project Manager you will be leading the site team and all construction procedures on a new build multiphase accommodation scheme based in Newcastle. You will ensure works are completed in a timely and efficient manner and must be able to coordinate a team of professionals of various disciplines to achieve the best results.

Requirements

For this role it is essential that you carry the following professional qualifications as a minimum;

* Educated to HNC / ONC Level or equivalent construction industry related qualification
* SMSTS
* First Aid
* CSCS Card

It is also essential that you hold the experience and skills below;

* Excellent verbal and written communication
* Reliable with strong time management skills
* Experienced in working for a main contractor in a Senior position with a proven track record of success in delivering projects up to £70m+
* Knowledge of and experienced in working on Design and Build contracts
* A proven history of delivering new build / refurbishment commercial and high-rise/multi-storey projects

* Reporting to: Operations Director / Managing Director



Duties

* Drive Cost Control
* Controlling multi-disciplinary teams
* Monitoring and control of sub contractors on site
* Contributing to an ongoing positive behavioural safety initiative
* Contributing to the value engineering and buildability of the project
* Conduct meetings on-site with architect, client and construction team
* Planning and monitoring works and regularly reviewing of the programme
* Liaison with the wider project teams such as design, planning and commercial departments
* Planning and overall control of all site operations to ensure that the project targets are achieved
* Establishing and maintaining commercial and financial control systems, procedures and standards which will meet the contractual requirements of the projects
* Determination to gain agreement of programmes and methods of construction with Planners and other appropriate production personnel
* Marshalling of resources for the overall control and execution of the works including the selection of sub-contractors to carry out the works
