Contracts Manager

The Projects

As a highly experienced Contracts Manager you will be overseeing various live NHS Hospital Refurbishments, Nationwide. You will be based in the head office located in Halifax and will have to travel to oversee the site team and all construction procedures to ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner. You will ensure that all projects are managed effectively from inception to completion and will ensure that the projects are handed to a high-quality standard.



Requirements

For this role it is essential that you carry the following professional qualifications as a minimum;

* Proven history of operating on various live hospital refurbishment schemes, completing them successfully
* Previous experience in working in a very similar role within the industry, withholding a construction background
* Attention to detail
* Holds great negotiation skills
* Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
* Understanding of cost management principles
* Strong communications skills, written and verbal
* Competent in using estimation software and MS Office tools
* Knowledgeable in building codes, regulations, and industry standards

Duties

* Manage programme of works
* Produce in depth programmes
* Oversee the site team and project managers
* Draft, evaluate, negotiate and execute contracts
* Oversee and implement health & safety regulations
* Demonstrate negotiation and problem-solving skills
* Negotiate with vendors, suppliers and subcontractors
* Coordinate with the QS team suppliers / subcontractors
* Responsibility with quantifiable results in contract negotiation
* Build and maintain good communications within all stakeholders
* Provide both internal and external contract-related issue resolution
* Liaise with the commercial team on estimating costs and timeframes
* Demonstrate and teach safe working practices to the construction team and ensure the high standard of Health & Safety is maintained on site
