The Project

As an experienced Freelance Health & Safety Manager, you will play a key role within a £200m large New Build Leisure Development in the heart of Manchester. You will oversee all aspects of Health & Safety for a specialist subcontractor within the development, ensuring the safety and well-being of all employees on site

Requirements

For this role it is essential that you carry the following professional qualifications as a minimum;

* CSCS Card
* NEBOSH / IOSH

It is also essential that you hold the experience below;

* Previous experience in a similar role within the construction industry on a major project

Additional skills;

* Good attention to detail
* Strong written / verbal communication
* Ability to conduct safety audits and inspections

The Role

* Job Title: Health & Safety Manager
* Project: £200m New Build Leisure Development, Manchester
* Duration: 3 Months
* Reporting to: Project Director

Duties

* Overseeing risk assessments to recognize potential workplace hazards
* Overseeing the suitable PPE and equipment are provided and used accurately
* Documenting, reporting and maintaining records of safety activities, incidents and training
* Remaining current with health and safety laws and ensuring adherence to relevant regulations
* Creating emergency response strategies, including evacuation procedures and first aid protocols
* Investigating accidents, incidents, or near misses to determine their cause and prevent recurrence
* Regularly carry out consistent inspections of the work place, ensuring compliance within safety regulations
* Provide guidance and support to employees and contractors, ensuring they are aware of procedures and regulations
* Developing and executing health and safety protocols and guidelines, aligning with legal requirements and standards
* Implementing safety audits and reviews, supervising the efficiency of health and safety initiatives, identifying areas for improvement
