Construction Estimator - Permanent Role!



The Company

A Nationwide contractor who withholds up to 25 years of experience. They have an impressive portfolio of delivering projects to achieve the highest standards and meeting all targets. They operate in various sectors including commercial and retail, although they hold specialities in retail fit out. They are a skilful team and work together efficiently to oversee client satisfaction.



The Projects

As a skilled Estimator, working closely and reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will be overseeing the project success of various retail schemes, Nationwide - Asda, M&S, Pets at home + more - Fit Outs / Refurbs



Requirements

For this role it is essential that you carry the following professional qualifications as a minimum;

* Proven history of operating on various live Refurbishment / Fit Out schemes, completing them successfully
* Previous experience in working in a very similar role within the industry, withholding a construction background

Additional skills;

* Superb attention to detail
* Holds great negotiation skills
* Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
* Understanding of cost management principles
* Strong communications skills, written and verbal
* Competent in using estimation software and MS Office tools
* Knowledgeable in building codes, regulations, and industry standards

Duties

* Negotiate effectively with suppliers and subcontractors
* Liaise with Project Managers to establish practical budgets
* Communicate regularly with project teams and stakeholders
* Examine project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation
* Supervise and manage any potential risks associated with the project
* Supervise the number of materials needed, based on project specifications
* Manage the documenting of detailed and up to date records of all cost estimates
* Oversee regular site visits to review project progress, challenges and requirements
* Provide regular updates to stakeholders on all relevant information, ensuring client satisfaction
* Conclude cost estimations, guaranteeing accuracy and thoroughness, and submit them for project approval
* Utilise cost infomation, consider market conditions, and leverage industry expertise to provide a precise estimation of the overall project cost
* Prepare detailed and competitive bids for projects, ensuring alignment with project requirements and budget constraints
