Assistant Quantity Surveyor

The Project
As a skilled Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will initially be based on a large new build commercial project in Newcastle with a build value in excess of £30m+ You will support the Senior Quantity Surveyor in various aspects of cost management and contractual administration while playing an integral role in ensuring the project is financially viable and well-executed.

It is also essential that you hold the experience below;
* History of assisting on commercial packages on new build / refurbishment projects with build values in excess of £5m+
* At least 2 years' experience in the industry in a similar position working for a leading construction contractor

Duties
* Preparing material reconciliations
* Monthly stock taking for valuations
* Measurement and valuation of works
* Assisting the QS with subcontract payments
* Preparing and submitting material delivery sheets
* Assisting in preparation of financial reports and valuations
* Assisting in the development of risk mitigation strategies
* Preparing bills of quantities (BOQ) and schedules of rates
* Communicating with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
* Evaluating and comparing tender submissions from contractors
* Contributing to the development and monitoring of project budgets
* Identifying and assessing potential risks related to cost and contracts
* Measurement and valuation of sub-contractors work for payment and Final Account
* Collaborating with other members of the project team, including architects, engineers
