The Company
Our client is a well-established, privately owned Civil Engineering contractor, operating across a number of sectors including remediation, environmental and groundworks. Based in the north of England and working nationwide, they provide a turnkey solution for all their clients civils engineering needs. They hold an impressive portfolio of successfully delivered projects including demolition, drainage, highways and earthworks and have won numerous industry awards.
The Project
As an experienced and hands-on Project Manager based in the Scottish Central Belt, you will oversee a New Build Road on a large commercial development in Airdrie. The section of works that you will oversee holds a total project value of £6m however the overall project is in excess of £250m. As a senior member or the operational site team, you will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of this project.
Requirements
For this role it is essential that you carry the following professional qualifications as a minimum;
* SMSTS
* First Aid
* CSCS Card
It is also essential that you hold the below qualities;
* Dynamic
* Strong attention to detail
* Leadership and management skills
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong working relationships other subcontractors and the main contractor
The Role
* Job Title: Project Manager
* Project: £6m New Build Road, Scottish Central Belt
* Duration: 40 weeks
* Reporting to: Project Director
Duties
* Ordering materials
* Maintaining quality control checks
* Conducting quality and safety inspections
* Monitoring and control of sub contractors
* Reporting on project progress to senior managers
* Signing off and handing completed work over to the client
* Ensuring work is finished to an exceptionally high standard
* Day to day problem solving and dealing with any issues that arise
* Managing health and safety throughout the site including site safety inspections
* Planning and overall control of all site operations to ensure that the project targets are achieved
* Overseeing and managing project schedules and budgets to ensure work is completed on time
* Strong leadership skills including experience in leading site teams, large programmes of work and has the confidence and ability to lead, influence and communicate with others to deliver targets
* Determine the required resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations
