Design Manager


The Company

The Project

As a highly experienced Design Manager you will work closely with the wider Design, Operations and Pre-con teams on various education, healthcare, and commercial schemes with values up to £30m+ across the West Midlands.



Requirements

For this role it is essential that you hold the experience below

* A proven track record of success delivering Design packages on a variety of project sectors
* Experience working in a similar Design position on new build / refurbishment projects with values in excess of £10m+

The Role

* Job Title: Design Manager
* Job Type: Permanent
* Location: Rugby, Warwickshire
* Project: £30m+ Various Education, Healthcare and Commercial projects
* Reporting to: Senior Design Manager

Duties

* Managing technical drawings and plans
* Working with operations and pre-con team
* Identifying efficiencies, risks and opportunities
* Ensure that the design is compliant with the brief
* Developing and maintaining the projects design management plan
* Develop innovative design solutions to clients briefs with input from the design team
* Ensure full compliance with all relevant codes and standards including Building Regulations
* Liaise with all members of the development team, from consultants to the sub-contractors
* Managing external figures in order to arrange; fee proposals, appointments and variations
* Identifying and managing risks and opportunities through value engineering and on-going technical awareness
* Bringing together architects, structural and service engineers, specialist designers and BIM technicians to create coordinated designs
* Providing management and support to the project design team and delegating tasks to team members according to their specific competencies
* On-going review to identifying the most cost-efficient way to deliver the required level of functionality and recommending possible alternatives for proposed construction details and systems to reduce costs
